L4, you're free to insult GW. It may result in some back and forth, but usually nothing heated. Belittling other players - i.e. us - results in stronger language. But hey, we're just sharing our opinions.

That's impressive! I think rewriting the generator makes the most sense as a first step, since it buys you a lot of time on the app. It wouldn't help wifi-only tablet users, but we all have phones as well and we'd be able to write our lists through a browser most of the time. My not-really-important...

It sounds like the battle the game's based on took place late in the Heresy. There should be spikes by then! For some reason "topknots" popped into my head, but let's ignore that.

My guess is spikes won't happen unless the game really takes off. I'm a little skeptical.

Has there been any thought of creating a mobile app, or a more mobile-friendly browser version? Or changing to work-friendly colors? I'd happily pay to use something like that...

Yeah, that's a good comparison. I also like moredakka's parallel to the Napoleonic era. Colorful uniforms, shooty infantry blocks that occasionally charge into combat, cavalry with swords, artillery… the paper-scissors-rock aspect (and colors) has always made it a popular era for wargaming, so it’s ...

I love the checkers and the splash of color on the wingtips! Also, how'd you stick the rod into the base? I need to do some of those but not sure what the best way is. For taking pictures you just need more light. Overhead light and also a lamp at about the same height as the minis a couple of feet ...

If they want to make a game where they produce "cool" looking models with "cool" close combat weapons. Where a bolter is more useful used as a club than what it was designed for. Long range killing. They should stick to fantasy. Or call it Sci-Fantasy, having little to do with S...

Raven no. We can't figure out if it's an AC a skimmer nor on stats. Also not codex. It's been codex since 6th edition, I think. I guess it'd be weird to have a skimmer alongside a supposedly similar flyer (the Storm Eagle), but it'd be nice because of its Dreadnought transport capacity. And there a...

The 40k setting asks to accept that protection has made close combat not only viable, but necessary. It doesn't always do a great job of explaining it, so sometimes you just have to assume that there's a technological mcguffin preventing long-ranged fire from working (but don't think about it too ha...

I have some respect for a number of PETA's positions, but this was mostly amusing. It's not like wargamers are a big market for fur coats. Not to mention, Fenrisian wolves might actually be wulfenized Astartes... On the other hand, they've managed to spread their message pretty well by doing this. I...

I keep having trouble with chipping paint on metal models. I've started changing how I paint stuff (minimize touching it), but there's no way I can always avoid picking up a mini to reach certain parts of it. So I need help. My usual procedure is to soak in soap water, lightly brush, rinse, dry, the...

The Executioner doesn't have sponsons in the Minervan list, possibly to keep the points down.

I'd only bother with the sponsons if they also fit on the light tank. I'd use light tanks w/ sponsons as Predators (more like the Epic 40,000 Predators than the SM or EA models).

What does a Volkite weapon do?? I'm not into 30k... basically frying targets??

Yeah. They're Martian Death Rays from the movies - high strength, pretty long range (on the larger variants), low armor penetration, and if you take a wound you might take an extra one.

Silly me. Yeah, the fact I couldn't fine the word in the dictionary should have been a hint for me :/ But somehow I assumed it must be derieved from "quest". :/ It is. "Quest" comes from Latin "quaerere", to seach. Quaestor was a title for Roman officials with investig...

The Demolisher is 30cm AP3+/AT4+, Ignore Cover :)
