This is a fair point. Eldar formations, other than Titans, aren't great at holding objectives, either. Their approach is usually to cripple or annihilate whatever could push them back. Granted, the gate and other abilities give them better mobility to respond to having a position taken against them.... |

Quote: (Onyx @ 23 Feb. 2009, 14:00 ) [quote]How are the Tau 'Death Incarnate at short range' as has previously been mentioned as the 40K experience? It has varied over the transition from 4th Ed to 5th Ed. In 4th Edition, Fire Warriors had the potential to be insane. Since Burst Cannons on the ... |

Quote: (Ginger @ 20 Feb. 2009, 01:10 ) Tigersharks should cost 275 for a pair (not 175) Or is that 350? Are AX-1-0s supposed to cost more than the Rail Cannon variant? |

Just a couple things: I'm completely in favor of retaining the AMHC. That's a Tau formation, through and through. The Tau method of warfare as elaborated upon by the Tau Empire codex and the Taros Campaign book from Forgeworld indicates that they're fully capable of going vehicle-heavy when they nee... |

Demolishers and Multi-Meltas are not as comparable in 40K as some are stating here. MMs are S8, hitting a single target and requiring a 6 to penetrate Leman Russ or Land Raider armor. However, if within 12", they get 2 dice to do so, instead of just one. Demolishers are S10 and use the large templat... |

It's (a. The rules state that the Holo-field save may be taken in place of the normal armor save. So three saves are rolled and the Revenant takes hits and critical rolls for all of those that get through. If it had Reinforced Armor, it would get a 're-roll' of the missed holo-field saves usin... |

Quote (nealhunt @ 12 April 2006 (14:33))I'm just glad to finally see an IG list with Deathstrikes. I can't possibly imagine why so many IG players leave them at home. Heh. Guess it depends on your opponents. I'd gladly take them... but neither of my opponents regularly employ Titans/Gargants o... |

Just had that experience in a recent game against Tau. Tigershark flew in and dropped Heavy Gun Drones on my Basilisk and Manticore batteries. Of course, my opponent forgot that HGDs only do AP... Next turn, with rockets unable to fire, the Manticores did a Sustained Fire with HBs and killed 3 of 4 ... |

I don't understand. Why wouldn't it be legitimate? Here's what the rulebook says: 1.7.3 If a unit finds itself in an enemy zone of control for any reason, then it must either charge the enemy or leave the zone of control when it next takes an action (note that this will require an action that allows... |

Chroma, Forgive the ignorance, but you mentioned that both units of Manticores did a Sustained Fire in all 3 turns. Was the IG player only firing with one or two of them per turn? |
