I find it odd that you specifically mention the Lightning Claw, as that weapon is specifically built for ripping through armored targets with ease. Personally, I'd be inclined to give such troops a SA that at least reduces - if not ignores - any CAF penalty for attacking armored targets. I'm basing...

So one of the things I've always found weird with Epic in general was the close assault factor. No matter what your opponent was you were always that good again them. No variance, no weakness or no strengths.. A close combat terminator with lightning claws was equally good against a titan as it was ...

Hi all, We've recently been playing through the armies we have to hand, those being Squats, Marines, Titan Legions and Imperial Guard. One of the things we've noticed is compared to 40k and how we envisage knights they seem really weak in NetEpic. Two main areas of concern - Resilience - they don't ...

Gold will not - and should not - be altered to include them at it's base level as Gold is not intended to represent any edition of W40K after 3rd. Well, except for the army lists that did not exist before then. However, Platinum is intended to address all of those concerns. If you cannot wait that ...

Sorry getting confused on this one, using NetEpic Gold rules as the basis (these ideas are for Platinum edition really but I use NEG as the basis for them) can someone give answers to these scenarios - - Two infantry units of same pinning class in close combat. My thought was neither side can escape...

@Legion4 - yes that is reason for trying to get something out there for discussion! I'd love to be able to use those models in NetEpic, I've got lots of the character models released over the years but they don't have rules presently and need house ruling to include them. A weird example is the assa...

Kind of has been done. In SM1 and 2 you had Order Counters [and we have always used them, as we added Activation with SM1 as we were long time gamers] ... 4 Counters : CHARGE ADVANCE FIRST FIRE FALLBACK When using the FALLBACK Counter, the entire unit, has to move at least 4cm away from the enemy. ...

So I've been thinking about play testing a new order, this is very situational but it might be nice to try out.. New Order - Tactical Retreat There are just sometimes on the battlefield you know you are over matched or out flanked and in danger of being wiped out. At times like this it takes a stron...

Hi all, Having come from 40k relatively recently I've noticed that the NetEpic framework is somewhat rigid in the purchasing of transports and certain equipment upgrades.. First off - In 40k a lot of units have a choice of different transports and I'd like to see part of that transferred over to Net...

Thanks MI

We kind of went for the one unnit only firing (as per Jervis Johnson's old rulings on most games systems, if in doubt go for least powerful option) but we did wonder.

That will enhance first fire somewhat in our estimations!!

No problem MI I'll have a look through, trying to get the core rules interpreted correctly initially, but always happy to see new ideas on the game system. One other thing I just remembered, snap fire. Depending on the way you read that section it could be one unit may fire or multiple units may fir...

Welcome (back) to NetEpic. Thanks very much, i love this game so its fantastic to get a few more games in. Dust off the old models and look for new ones. :-) As I read those rules, model A would not be allowed to move up to model B if doing so would place model A within 1cm of model C. Unless of co...
