By the way, I still have many posts of me critquing the Firewarrior issue, along with the markerlights, and unguided fire of GMs just a search away. ?No need for me to repost them all, as I don't want to end up lobbying. The whole point of the sniper in 40k was to target induvidual models to remove ...

I think my view would be well remembered.  I don't like the lists portrayal, stats, and uses of the firewarriors.  I'll leave it at that, as all my suggestions to fix them have thus far always been shot down.  Hopefully you guys can succeed where I couldn't.

I think they are talking about using different BFG models to reprisent the non-existant Moray in Epic.  Yes the Emissary is a BFG vessel.

Quote (Tactica @ 09 Jan. 2006 (11:05))RD, Why would that be hard to believe... its a make-believe race in a make-believe game system. Its all pretend. LOL. Where did this come from?  I will let this pass this time, but I am very disappointed with you Tactica.  The next time you ridicule a ...

Who commissioned the Moray, the Aircaste?  I find that hard to believe coming from a BFG background.....

Quote (Lion in the Stars @ 05 Jan. 2006 (10:53)).....and invented the Moray from whole cloth to be the Tau superheavy 'tanks'. Actually, on that note, what is the Moray?  Is it a space ship?  Is it a big hover tank?  Is it an ancient grandfather of the current Manta?  The more I ...

Leave it be.  When you face IG you need to worry about DeathStrikes.  When you face Space Marines you need to worry about ThunderHawk assaults with chap etc. etc.  All lists have a "nice" unit or "quirky" unit.  If we can't even fully agree that its broken, then leave it as our "...

Quote (Breten @ 19 Dec. 2005 (08:56))I did use the Ethereal, and I will likely pass on him next time.  My Firewarriors didn't even take a shot, sitting garrisoned at an objective, only firing on the Falcons once.  And it was only the Devilfish that could hit the Falcons. I won't say anythi...

Just to clarify, I think that the "Act as skimmer" rule was only supposed to work when the Tau were on the receiveing end of an assault, not when they initiated it.  This is how I read it, and I would only support it if this were the case.

Was this correct?

Just another observation:  It seams that Tau are the only race that have to be "realistic".  I think this is unfair.  You don't hear these kind of debates happening on the SM, or Necron, or Tyranids boards.  They are more concerned with Fun, and Fluff.  Maybe we should take ...

Er, and the Tau did not come about at year 0.  They are the new guys remember? Just out of curiosity, does anyone use the 'cuda for AA defense?  Seams that this guys is pretty strong, and it would make sense that the Aircaste would be intercepting any incoming spaceships, bombers, and assa...

Eh, if we're talking advanced, as the MAX tech each side has then I would say they are equal, with the tie-breaker to Imperial technology from the Golden Age. Stuff that you will actually see outside of fluff, and in common use?  Yeah Tau are definately using high tech more commonly than the Im...

I also think dumbfire should be removed.  The Skyray should keep its markerlight.  The total AA ability of the list should be in balance with other lists, despite how the fluff indicates induvidual units perform.  If the Skyray gets tougher, then the 'cuda and ion might have to be loo...
