Hey there, I really like the rules of "A fistful of TOWs". There is a free version somewhere on the web, the commertial version III is a little different, but also contains fun rules for various degrees of training and technology standards. Also chemical weapons and even nukes are included...

This week I recieved my order and today I finished the building of the great edifices - very nice stuff indeed!

How do you paint them? Is a basecoat by spray can to heavy for the fine details of the roofs and walls?

Thanks for your advice and this nice terrain!

I feel sorry for the guard, they were a nice unit to have...

How do you include tyrants without them? Only in combination with other AV?

Hey thanks, I think I got it.

So in the action phase you declare a synchronized action, take one single discipline roll and perform two different actions (e.g. some units move, some sustain).

Looking forward to testing these rules!

As I currently enjoy reading a book by Archduke Charles of Austria, Duke of Teschen, about commanding battles in the early 19th century, these thoughts came to my mind. I did not play a game like that. Thinking about the March action, I would say it is some kind of non-combat move which in reality w...

For gaming in reasonalble short periods of time, that might be true, yes. Armies beeing wiped out would be the "normal" case, if their commanders left them in the thick of battle too long, not if some deity chose to limit the time of their battle... So the limit is mainly for gaming reason...

I don't think the higher movement distances have any influence on the number of game tuns. An Epic: Armageddon turn equals roughly 10-15 minutes - time enough for an intense fight between two formations during an engagement to finish each other of to set up and execute a devastating bombardement. Th...

Ahoi, as the topic suggests, I am currently thinking about the rason for limited game turns. In Epic: Armageddon the standard scenario is limited to 4 turns, Warhammer limits most scenarios to 6-7 turns, even non-fiction games like Cold War Commander or A Fistful Of TOWs have scenarios with restrict...

If marines had good night vision, they would not need lamps in their terminator armour, when fighting those genestealers on spacehulks, wouldn't they? Just kidding, I do know this is just for setting the claustrophobic and horror mood. Anyway I do not believe in strikt tech levels in 40k - Scout mar...

Thank you both for your comments.

Simplicity: that's why I tend to the simple -1 initiative. Restricting range seemed a bit strange for me...
