As one of the guys in my gaming group loves to say, trenches are the nicest gift you can give your opponent around your Blitz objective.

Gotcha, I was thinking of IW from the lore, so trenches and razor wire not static defenses like a bunker or large buildings. This way there can be a garrison of infantry to support the ordnance. I totally understand that approach, and it does sound and feel totally thematic too - but the list, as d...

Would it be possible to add additional fortified positions to the IW Force list? For example, allow a retinue to purchase trenches, and bunkers in addition to the Gun Emplacement currently available. I bring this addendum up because the Gun Emplacement can only be purchased for each armored vehicle...

Well, at least these things can't spawn Wraithlords & Wraithguard...

Conversions look great!

Wow those are impressive. Also where did you get the backdrop?

Hey sorry, meant to respond sooner. The backdrop is the inside cover of the Forgeworld Red Books for the Horus Heresy (rulebook, core Astartes army list, Legions army list). Great ruined city backdrop :)

Ok, the first battle report of my own is up - Iron Warriors v3.2a vs. Minervans (3000pts): http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=34188 My opponent shorted himself by 100 points, but in all honesty, with the way I rolled in on him, that might have made the difference between...

Bringing this writeup over from my blog now that Taccoms is back up. This is the first of several battle reports aimed at exploring potential tweaks to the Iron Warriors v3.1 approved list. The playtest changes can be found here: http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=34161 ...

So, I’m simply wondering. Why push to approve a list, and then as soon as that goes through, turn to feedback and immediately start to tweak it? Are lists being put up for approval deliberately made a bit weak in hopes of getting it through easier , only to then end up with a competitively poor ver...

First off, a huge thanks to everyone who's helped get the Iron Warriors v3.1 list approved (especially Onyx)! That was a long time in coming, and I'm glad the list has made it to Approved status. However, between playtesting both official and unrecorded, a bit of soul-searching, and a healthy dose o...

Looking forward to the draft. Poking my head back in after some prodding from Dave to let folks know I'm not dead and that the v3.2 playtest changes are coming. I've just been quiet due to a combination of work priorities, collecting a little more input, and putting together a playtest document. An...

Yeah, I know they’re calling this a “flyer” but in Epic terms I’m definitely seeing a 30-35 move skimmer. I understand their desire for multiple-build models, but I’d say skip the “bomber” variant... not even sure the “gunship” will be worth it either.

Transport capacity looks light too :/

Looks like it can support a 5-man squad of Electropriests or Ruststalkers?

Maybe treat it like storm troopers & valkyries- as transport for a ruststalker formation and a way of getting dedicated assault troops into position.
