When a formation takes an action and leaves a unit out of formation when does the unit die?
Does the unit die before shooting/assaulting - giving the formation a blast marker, or does the death of the out of formation occur at the end of the turn? |

We had an issue in our current game, one of the players has a formation of four Predator Destructors with their Autocannon AP5+/AT6+ and 2 x AP5+ Heavy Bolters. An advance was taken and the Autocannon shot at units in the target formation that were out of cover. We are all happy with this action. Th... |

Wow, I never expected this to elicit such a response. Things have calmed down now so I'll summarize / list what I've learned. I think it is already clear from AgeingHippy's comments that he was my opponent in this game. 1. The Scout rule in the FAQ applies when the formations are not intermingled an... |

Finally - The OP's post seems to have been hijacked. The question was about the winning formation's consolidation move. My question was about the consolidation move, but only in this limited scenario. If we find that it is not possible for this scenario to happen then the consolidation move won't h... |

I will add some clarifications. The SH was in Base contact with one of the Vauls. There were two others, one of them may have been <5cm from the SH to have his ZOC completely eclipsed. The third Vaul ZOC extended outside of the SH ZOC but the Vaul unit was fully inside. It may have been possible to ... |

Can a unit end its consolidation move within ZOC of an enemy unit that was not the target of an assault? And how do you play it if it's impossible for them to land outside of it? Our scenario , Eldar vs SM. Takes place just after setup, SM won the initiative and this was their first move. The Eldar ... |

Excellent. Thank you for your answers.
Receiving a BM and then regrouping to remove it (and possibly others) as part of the hold action is equivalent or better compared to the do nothing that we were doing. Well, as long as the fail doesn't break the formation anyway. Thanks again. |

After failing an action test, is the hold action mandatory? Backstory In our gaming circle we have been playing with rules such that the options after failing an action test are: * Do nothing * Take a Hold action and a blast marker After taking another look at the rules it would appear that after fa... |

@Carlos, thanks for your resources. We like playing Minigeddon. @Mephiston You say "Lists should be balanced between 2K and 5K", is this documented somewhere or is it just considered group consensus learned after playing many games? Thanks all of you for your replies, it certainly clears a... |

My gaming group have been playing Epic using the Minigeddon rules as specified by Epic Armageddon London . We have reached a point where we're now finishing games in an evening and looking to scale up the armies sizes, but a conflict has arisen about the rules that we should play. One camp suggests ... |
