Hi Neal. Well the hop is only 10 cm which is precisely what the current rule allows. Which actions to keep is another problem. Sustain fire for example does not seem that big a deal. Having to shoot before hoping 10cm is very limiting, meaning it won't be very useful unless the ennemy comes very ver... |

I've seen pictures of the AI scale one... with it's Tigershark controller ship... I think it's similar to a Sniper Drone Team for the Air Caste.
So that thing is an air to air combat unit.
Have any idea how many fit in a Tigershark?

That's a good mix of opinions we have here... E&C, could you detail a bit what you're most happy with? Is it the fact there is less complicated situations, or it it the addidional avoid shooting effect? Jstr, you seem having the most mixed opinion. Would you be interested in testing that sort of rul... |

In my opinion the focus of the crisis suits is being the elites with initiative 1+. They retain initiative and rally very well.
Crisis suits should have a small cut in firepower as compared to the firewarriors to make for the higher initiative rating.
Crisis won't overlap that way.

Hi, I'd like to share a possible alternative to the current Tau Jet Packs rule. Here's a first draft: QUOTEMany Tau battlesuits and drones make use of powerful and sophisticated jump packs. These allow them to pounce on the enemy and strafe them before retreating again out of range of the survivors?... |

QUOTEGray DL, in the cadres thread Missile pods are the main/only long range weapon crisis suits have. 45 seems OK. ?Again, 4+/4+ firepower seems too good. 5+/5+? Maybe the crisis suits could be compensated for the loss in firepower by giving them benefits from the other kinds of special gear/weapo... |

QUOTEGray DL It shouldn't be a goal to make the ion cannon an equal choice to the rail gun. As a weapon, it is clearly inferior. I understand the fact that Ion cannon is supposedly plain inferior to the railgun. But we have an armylist constraint which is having Railhead and Ionhead costing the sam... |

Hammerheads:
Make a decision on the main weapons first. Cost comes after.
Stingrays:
I see them around 50 pts each now: => Support group: 200 pts, 4 units => Upgrade: 100 pts, 2 units
Additionally, shouldn't the scorpionfish be recosted up a bit?

Just a few points CS: Hammerheads: I'd say not both changes at the same time. - Either up cost to 400 pts. - Or rework the main guns. At this point I'm getting more and more convinced that re-focusing the main guns on tank-killing is the way to go. Crisis: Removing AP is fine. But I'm not very willi... |

I'm not opposed that. But halving shots is a very harsh downgrade, a slight cost decrease could be in order. |

Nice to see your army finished Dobbsy.
For E&C, the good thing about the Tetras is their incredible area coverage and speed. |

I find the scorpionfish is a very strong and very well fitting concept for Tau. Maybe you should have a look at an actual one:

QUOTEGrayDL, in the Cadres To sum it up, FWs would be needed for infantry killing if the other troop types would not have such over-powered AP stats. I agree with that. Fact is other core cadres are too helpful when it comes to kill masses of infantry, especially Ion cannon hammerheads and crisis s... |

I'm fine with the vespid and how they were designed as FF specialists. Sure Vespids can use supported assault tactics, but they don't fit well for coordinate fire manoeuvres cannot guide missiles and just have no ranged firepower at all. Much like kroots, the vespid implies you forget about tau tact... |
