For a great story about a titan crew (and the effects of being a titan princeps) read the Black Library novel "Titanicus" by Dan Abnett. An Imperial titan legion squares off against a Chaos titan legion. Thought it was a pretty good novel and Dan Abnett is by far the Black Library's best w... |

My thoughts................................ Sewer Rats: D3+1 Sewer tokens may be placed anywhere on the map. Any all-infantry formation moving into contact with them is instantly transported elsewhere. Roll a D6, on a 1 the opposing player gets to choose a sewer token, on a 5-6 the controlling playe... |

Alrighty. Lsrwolf and I have done some brainstorming about some ideas presented here and come up with some more concrete proposals for our larger games that we like to play. 1. Joint Operations Liason Officer (JOLO): Taking one will allow you to field another/different army within your force. Has to... |

Lsrwolf and I currently have a count of 76 terrain pieces on the playing surface. The recommended amount is 108 pieces, so shy a little bit. We can easily make that up. We both have more terrain, and ruined buildings that can be added. After more discussion we like the idea of a div/corps level HQ t... |

Lsrwolf and I have been discussing the idea of adding a higher level formation HQ to our larger games. Like a battalion/regimental/legion/etc. commander HQ. Taking one would allow for X of 5000pt armies. Such an august personage would be quite the bonus to kill so we were thinking that they might qu... |

Thank you gentlemen. That was some good explanations on the status of broken troops. Its a good point to remember that "Broken" can be seen as a loose state of being. They are not necessarily fleeing before the enemy, but perhaps are disorganized, regrouping, etc. |

Lsrwolf and I have discussed the necessity to change the Blitzkrieg objective. This is because of the extreme distance involved in placing it in the corner. Even the Eldar would have difficulty reaching the Blitzkrieg if one goes with corners deployment. The Imperial Guard can forget the Blitzkrieg ... |

Want to get the forum members opinions on this. Do you think that broken units are more capable than they should be? I do understand that they do have penalties on them: 1. Take extra casualties for coming under fire (except for fearless units). 2. Die if engaged and lose (except fearless units). 3.... |

Ah, well, good. I was one of those people with their boxers in a bunch. It made no sense (in our now incorrect reading of the rules) that a unit could not countercharge to lend help in the assault because of closest enemy unit restrictions, yet was unable to get into BtB with the closest enemy unit,... |

The responses from a 26,000 point game are interesting, but have little bearing on that balance of the list in the 2000-5000 point range, which is the stated objective. Quite right. Lsrwolf and I aren't debatingthe balance of the army lists at the 2-5,000pts range. What we have been saying is that ... |

Does that help make it clearer? Sure, if I agreed with you. :) But seriously, I understand what you are explaining, but as of yet I remain unconvinced with the logic of it. at 3000 pts the IG has spent 6.6% of his points on a Deathstrike which gives him good anti-Titan ability. At 26,000 points he ... |

I agree with lsrwolf that the rough riders are an incredibly effective unit and a steal at 150pts. They are quite fragile when coming under fire and don't fare to well in assaults either against any significant opposition, but they have their uses. I mostly use them to screen my artillery companies ... |

Lsrwolf and I have encountered a situation with the Enggage action that just seems so counterintuitive and just plain wrong. So, we have had it clarified that if you are going to countercharge you have to countercharge towards the closest enemy unit. You have a situation where the formation that has... |
