Well I'm not dead, so there's that. As to the question, supporting units do not get the +1 from Blood Brothers. I'll look through the list over Christmas and come back with thoughts. I may not be able to be the lead developer anymore though, unless Vassal games can count as me actively testing the a... |

Yes, the 4+ natural firefight is intentional. I felt the doctrinal difference and short range, all target firepower warranted a bump. With the new markerlight rule it goes to 3+ which is right at the level I feel it should be. If it becomes a problem we can change it though. Evil - I'm somewhat intr... |

This is my idea for a Farsight Enclaves variant list now that we have a normal list locked in. I'd like to hear what other people think and see if there are any glaring problems that I don't see. |

Here is a general overview of the Farsight Enclave, as far as I know. Remember, these are for the 40k scale: Bonded Teams - every squad that can be bonded, is for no extra cost. Broadsides/Hammerheads/Skyray/Stealth Suits/Pathfinders/Piranhas - In 40k, these are all 0-1 in a Farsight army. Meaning y... |

I will go on the record as saying that "expendable" isn't against the background we have on Drones. The only large scale deployment of drones we know about was on Pavonis from Courage and Honor where thousands of drones were dropped into a city to hold up the PDF there. As I recall the dro... |

The Tigershark AX-1-0 also has a networked Markerlight. But it doesn't /need/ a Markerlight, so we leave it off. Same with Seeker Missiles, in my opinion. Give those to the regular Tigershark - it would give the lesser bomber an actual role (volume of fire vs quality of fire). If we are sticking to ... |

I was the one who brought up the tunnel fighting Yme-loc. They were sent into the sewers of this city to find a terrorist cell. They weren't really expecting to find any sort of organized or well equipped enemy (which is why they freaked out when they stumbled upon Ciaphus Cain and his band of merry... |

Again, army concept aside, these guys shouldn't be getting any shooting at all , except for possible rail-rifle upgrades (they are by no means standard issue - until recently they were experimental and had a tendency to overload and kill the user). Pathfinders are a unit that: -have a doctrine of no... |

Consistency is important, but we should remember something - Pathfinders have Markerlights built into their Carbines. If they are shooting people, they aren't markerlighting things. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw pathfinders use their Carbines in 40k, and in the fluff I can only think... |

That's true I suppose. A compromise then. I'd say lose carbines though, and do whatever with rail rifles and keep the price low as possible. Carbines are weapons of last resort for Pathfinders. Railrifles are their unique weapons so should get emphasis. They certainly aren't supposed to be outgunnin... |

I still say that they would be better served/more thematic if you took their guns away. The point of Pathfinders is not to engage the enemy directly, ever. They are a small unit of lightly armed troops, and according to Tau doctrine are deployed ahead of the main army. They are supposed to pull the ... |

Point taken. So then, anyone interested in doing the next test game? Or if you think it would be better I can just be a reporter while two people of comparable skill (ie not only played 3 games) play. After all, I'm biased towards my idea of AT3+ hammerheads. I'd like to see what someone else does w... |

I'm just testing using the tournament scenario, no funky deployments. As you yourself implied, winning a corners deployment game doesn't really /prove/ anything, other than "Mobility is good." I didn't want to vary the list I'm using to test too much, to be honest. Biggest change was losin... |

Even if I had moved a recon formation up to mark them, it wouldn't have mattered. The Basilisks had deployed behind a LOS blocking piece of terrain. I had to double the Hammerheads towards the building in order to 'pop up' and see them at all. The only way I could've held the Hammerheads back would'... |
