I agree with all the proposals.

There are very good similar ideas on this thread:

Do not forget the "Lance" story. It came to mirror the same name rule for 40 3rd Ed Eldars. <snip> Didn't you notice we are talking about Tau here??? nobody mentioned Eldar but you ::) Not really, the thread is about changing the Lance rule, in the Rules Amendments subforum. If this were ...

Do not forget the "Lance" story. It came to mirror the same name rule for 40 3rd Ed Eldars. At this time, the rule counted any vahicle armour better than 12 as 12. the Falcon lance weapon was S8, so it needed never worst than a 4+ to pierce the armour. The lore justification was the eldar...

Man that's just insanely reductive sounding. It's a company level wargame not a simulator ;)

Just trying to play how the Rulebook says, and I repeat, it contradicts itself.

I just see that each player group uses different rules for LoS but I wanted to stablish some standar here.

It matters a lot for 15 and 30 cm range weapons, and of course FireFights!!! And what about infantry on top of a 10 cm high hill??? does somebody measure from the base of the hill? or the actual models? It is different from buildings since can't claim the models count as on ground level (=actually u...

Well kind of... The Design Concept: Shooting Conventions basically puts it in the hands of the players. I'm sure that upsets some, but I think it was a way for Jervis to reinforce it's a game between two people, so you should talk to that other person and perhaps even enjoy the interaction. Measuri...

Along those lines, we ended up getting on the whole basing bandwagon once I'd done my first Marine army on FoW bases, we even more abstracted the game and treated units similar to how we treated terrain. LoS/LoF was shortest line from x to y base to base. Units were touching,/in terrain/in effect o...

I'm in the UK and so play the same way everyone else does here, and it works well . You get over the occasional oddity, not least because people build terrain according to the convention - you wouldnt see a strip of ruin sprue by itself, it'd be on a base of area terrain with lots of other LoS bloc...

In UK Epic tournaments all scenery (no matter how small) is treated as infinitely high to keep things simple and clear. I've played both ways but I prefer the infinitely high approach myself. Yep good approach. I knew that about the UK tournaments, but I wonder what do people use outside of UK : if...

Giving area terrain infinite height is certainly easier, especially given Epic's logarithmic ground scale. TLoS stuff still comes into play, however, as units can be partially obscured around the corner of a forest or building. I think where Onyx took exception to using infinite height was when a p...

I have to open this can of worms again, due to having to teach the game to newbies, gaming issues, and homogenizing rules in the national community. Quoting Ian from Onyx LoS thread: Part of the problem appears to be the contradictions within the written rules - while the rules effectively say in se...

5: Following up again, I think the destroyer's Laser destroyer should be AT3+, lance. Making it a macro weapon that follows the tourney pack rules doesn't seem right, because a laser destroyer is a lascannon on steroids and lascannons have no AP value. There are 3 versions of the Laser Destroyer, n...

Played yesterday against Space Marines (Scions of Iron, lots of Land Raiders and two Warhounds, + Terminators). I fielded Chaos undivided, the typical Covens with Cultist+Land Transporter+ 2 Technicals. Upgraded 2 cultists in each to Big Mutants for the extra resilience and FF4+. All support was Und...

As a player of Chaos Cultists I also wonder if the list is going to be updated like the Chaos Marines ones.

This faction feels like kind of forgotten in favor of all the CSM. And LatD isn't supposed to be more summon/daemon focused? daemons are considerably more expensive like Abetillo pointed. ::)

Alternatively, it’s the best SHT for just marching to objectives or doubling to support vulnerable formations and daring something to engage them! This! it can be useful in some builds where you just need a rock to roll forward, no waste of time firing any weapons. There’s inevitably going to be on...
