all those weapons are mostly targeted by a machine spirit, though, have very reduced arc of fire compared to that of an infantry man, and must all fire from the same point (so lesser LOS/LOF). Be careful with straight number comparisons... If 40K doesn't even make that distinction, why should Epic?... |

FF5+ +1EA would equal two stands of marines, if you think that marines with just bolters=FF5+, the LRC has 12 bolters, the equivalent to anywhere from 2 to 4 stands depending on how many guys you have per stand. And then you add the assault cannon. |

I'd say that if we are going for a first contact list (essentially Behemoth, right?), we'd restrict ourselves to the units present before 3rd edition, correct? With the recent ret-con, we'll have Hierodules, but nothing larger than that. That will leave us with the Tyrant, Zoanthropes, Lictors, Gene... |

@notanoob: A stand of Space Marines is roughly 4 Bolters and one Missile Launcher or Flamer. So then the Crusader has 3 stands worth of bolters. That's a lot of firepower. A LR crusader would have more difficulty targeting individual infantry than a squad of infantry, though. Even so, three stands ... |

I always though that Dark Angels would be real easy to make. Bigger Termy formation to represent the fact that they have more, duel autocannon Dreads for Mortis, plasma tacs, Ravenwing (six bikes, an attack bike and one land speeder variation). Isn't that the long and short of what makes their army ... |

6 Bolters is roughly a stand of Space marines right? So 2 sets of 6 would be +1EA? And with all of the bullet flinging potential at short range, it would have FF3+ right? |

Don't go off on this stuff yet, just wait for the codex to come out. Some of the stuff in there seems ridiculous/overpowered/unrealistic in general. |

Wasn't this about a Land Raider variant? Anyho... I personally love the idea of an alternate list where you get to use stuff like this that you'd have to convert. Like the Sabre Tank Hunter, a Rhino variant that has a massive (appears to be bigger than a Demolisher Cannons) Auto-cannon. Or heck, eve... |

I have to agree. The rules are also needlessly ambiguous (when a power gamer reads them), and caused so many arguments that we spent 6 hours on our first game of it. Realism is not 40Ks specialty, and it has been loosing a what little it had ever since 4th edition rolled around. The reintroduction o... |

I guess that's what I'm arguing then. That the base Biocannon needs better stats. I mean really, would it be such a fearsome weapon if it's weaker than a battle cannon (which it is obviously more powerful than?). It doesn't make any sense to me that it's Ap4/At5, when it should be more like Ap3 (to ... |

Quote: (fredmans @ Oct. 31 2009, 12:13 ) I have no problem with Bio-cannons being downgraded in order to achieve a design purpose. If Tyranid shooting becomes too good, Tyranids will start playing shooty instead of relying on assaults. Bio-cannons still DO serve the purpose of adding Blast Mark... |

Either way, that is many times better than a double auto cannon. Way better. Has a good chance to kill Monoliths and space marines alike. Autocannons? Incapable of even glancing a Monolith, and has a tough time with Predators. brutal against infantry in anything less than power armor. But going by t... |
