Quote: (alansa @ 31 Mar. 2009, 12:40 ) Take some tips from EA Alternate Activations To my mind this would be a MASSIVE improvement. Additionally Convert published scenarios to use goals instead of VP if possible. (VPs for tie-breaker only) boarding actions. +1 to boarding actions if enemy is on...

Its not so much to do with weight but with the lack of a good dedicated transport for me to carry them in. Thus any spindle parts on a model will break. It is frustrating in the extreme with my eldar and elves for 40K and Fantasy!

Thought it would be something like that. Just wanted to check first of all. Yeah not gluing something to flying bases is a regular practice of mine.... just to avoid the inevitable snap during transport!!

Okay, the flying stands for my FW Tau models go together fine. THen i go to put them in the hole in the model... It looks too big... And it is. All the holes for my Custodian and Protectors are too big for the little bit sticky outy bit n the stands pole... if you get my meaning... Its annoying

I like that idea for Chaos, IN as they fight very much like WW1, WW2 fleets and so you can understand allowing mixed squadrons of ships. Orks suit this idea very well as they aren't an "organised" battlegroup, more a collection of ships that will overwhelm you The Eldar i certainly wouldn't say suit...

Yeah against 6+ armour, forgot about that. *shrugs* Theres still a salvo of 12 Torpedoes that will be 5-10cm away from the ships now. No one likes that.. Especially when you can have 2 Mantas from each Protector ready to swoop in as well. Protectors are very good ships, they do me fine in a 45cm Alp...

Vaaish coming up with an unusual but interesting list with a background is one thing. So it might do well against one enemy if you play with it regualarly then it will have weaknesses exposed. So a light cruiser fleet could be really interesting and fluffy . A Tailored fleet is annoying just because...

Tell me about it, i'm half tempted to just take a fleet that has as much missiles and attack craft in it as possible and surge forwards with everything go for an aggressive alpha strike and see what happens. But then that would be sinking to their level. Perhaps i'll try and start up a 3-4 way campa...

I was about to say Black Horizon, they Hero has odd fluff and the Protector is almost a Carbon copy of the Hero, although i would say i do prefer the Protector just because of how it looks.

The Tau list has potential but i don't think they fully grasped that potential.

Perhaps, i understand the advantages of Tau however when you try and play to what fluff is out there and you are a new player you tend to get... soundly beaten by players who seek to tailor forces. That is me being polite by the way. Perhaps it is my inexperience but then i have played other systems...

I dislike SG/GW fluff heavily, almost as much as i hate their Models. The Kor'Or'Vesh and its models has relatively decent fluff, although not enough official fluff unfortunately. Then again some of the Fan Fluff you find is really quite lovely. The rules from forgeworld are good enough, they are ju...

Admiral d'Artagnan and Vaaish i will concede that the Imperial Navy has greater abilities at this moment in time. Vaaish, Tau players are used to a young empire with little exerience but good training, ability and tech. This is reflected by powerful weapons and equipment as well as some capable elit...
